Lisa accidentally fell into the makeup world after completing a fine art degree and feels she has discovered her true passion in life. She says,
“After freelancing for 13 years I currently work as a theatrical and media makeup lecturer in a college for a range of levels, I also freelance around this when opportunities are available. I love being a tutor and pushing the creativity within the students.
I believe my strengths are being able to work with all aspects of makeup and turning my hand to lots of different skills. I’m always looking to extend my knowledge and learn new techniques.
When training I placed 1st for the national student body painting competition in 2006, but my ultimate aim was to compete at IMATS London. In 2007 I decided to apply for this and was selected, and placed 3rd in the prosthetics category.
I love the versatility of the makeup world and the freedom to be creative whilst always striving to be innovative with my work. I take inspiration from many forms whether it be from a piece of fabric to the great outdoors. I’m always looking for ideas to create makeup looks and be inspired.”
