This epic day of learning, shopping and networking is for people passionate about prosthetics, mad about media makeup and curious about creatures!

The day comprises demos, talks and advice from top film industry professionals, beautiful body art, extraordinary exhibits, exciting competitions and shopping with leading specialist retailers. This is our sixth annual event which since its small beginnings has grown into THE annual makeup FX gathering, and has sold out every year, so be sure to book your tickets early.
We had an amazing time being back in the swing of things for 2021 and loved seeing everyone!

There's a lot going on!

Look out for all this on the day...

As well as being used heavily in film and TV, creative prosthetics are also found in theatre, live events, cosplay, tourist attractions, casualty simulation and many more places besides. Some of the skills involved include animatronics, sculpture, mould making, hair punching, prosthetic application, painting and finishing, all of which are represented at the event.

You’ll find an abundance of skill on show on two stages, in competitions, live demos and the Monster Mash Exhibition that showcases work by various artists from Academy Award winners to recent graduates. You’ll also get to buy products and equipment from the best brands in the business and maybe win a Prize Draw of makeup FX goodies for your kit! If you’re an aspiring artist you can also apply for a place in Portfolio Surgery; a one-to-one advice session with an experienced industry pro – apply via this website throughout the month of October.

We cater to professionals, students, hobbyists and fans alike and welcome greater numbers of young people and families each year. There is no official age restriction but under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult, and if you’re bringing a child, please refer to the FAQs for information about the content on display.

Our focus on knowledge sharing means attendees from further and higher education institutions have an unparalleled opportunity to learn, network, and shop, and we’re pleased to offer tutors discounts for groups of 10+ students and teaching aids for follow-up work.

2019’s New Venue was Amazing!

Coventry’s fabulous Ricoh Arena (now Coventry Building Society Arena), offers more room, more amenities, easier access and…more prosthetics! For 2021 we have extended our space even further for Covid safety.

Covid Safety

We're working closely with CBS Arena to make the Event safe for everyone

Please read our Covid-19 Guidelines and FAQs carefully and be sure to bring your completed Self-Declaration form with you to the Event as instructed, thank you.

Here’s what we’re doing to keep you safe:

  • Proof of negative Covid test beforehand
  • Strong recommendation to wear masks
  • Larger exhibition space
  • More room between stands and wider walkways
  • 10m high ceilings for air flow and ventilation
  • Increased cleaning procedures at the venue
  • Hand sanitiser at multiple points
  • NHS Track and Trace QR codes displayed
If you’ve been to The Prosthetics Event before you’ll remember the crowds and how busy the Exhibitors Hall was. This year will look and feel different, for very good reason! For everyone’s safety, we have a lot more space in the Exhibitors Hall. Stands will be further apart with much wider walkways, so there will be plenty of space for everyone to spread out, keep their distance and have a safe and enjoyable day. Here’s some footage from our final pre-event visit.
